Themed hotel
A touch of Tivoli
TIvoli Hotel and Conference Centre opened in 2010 and has 392 rooms, 14 meeting rooms and conference facilities for 2500 people. It it owned and operated by Arp-Hansen Hotel Group, one of Scandinavia's largest hotel operators and situated by the Copenhagen waterfront, 10 minutes walk from Tivoli.

The hotel caters both to business travellers and families, and the modern architecture by Kim Utzon invited for a different interpretation of the whimsical Tivoli style.

A colour scheme was designed for the regular guest rooms and corridors, and a number of rooms were themed around Tivoli icons and architecture. Discreet interpretations of traditional Tivoli patters was used on carpets, drapes and walls. A new series of posters and graphic artwork was designed to twist the established Tivoli tradition for eye-catching posters.

A very important element in Tivoli is the use of coloured light points, and this was transferred into the hotel's restaurant which changes atmosphere from morning to night. The children's play area has bespoke Tivoli games and interactive features, with the colours adjusted for the indoor setting and modern architecture.

The posters and artwork were done by Thomas Winkler and feature designer was Will Gurley.
