Cinema 4d is one of our favorite tools. So when a new release came out (r13) with all sorts of bells and whistles we were like children in a candy store. Well I guess we're still children deep inside since we still like candy. But I digress....
This image was created for the 99 frames contest whose sole purpose is to showcase the new features of Cinema4d r13. Right from the get go we wanted to create an image that would look cool and stand on its own even if you take it out of the contest context. We also wanted to use the new features in a way that would complement the image and not just be an afterthought. Just toggle all the switches on and see what happens...
One of the coolest new features is the physical camera. You can basically setup a scene like you would in real world. F stops, lenses etc. So we just had to play with that!
We wanted it to look like it's taken out from a title sequence from a kids show that uses models. When the little car gets out of the frame the name of the show will come up.
For all you tech nerds the images uses depth of field, chromatic aberration and motion blur (mostly seen in the animation part of it).

Don't forget to check out the 99frame animation!

Vimeo was a bit naughty with the compression and color profiles but hopefully you get the point!
