ENVIRONMENT DESIGN
Hannah's Room

"Hannah is a little scientist who loves nature and loves exploring. She's a tomboy who isn't afraid to get her fingers dirty, but still maintains a girly appearance. She loves teddy bears and collecting stuffed animals of her favorite insects, and she has an interest in chemistry and combining different elements together."  This was the abridged version of the character description I received, and I immediately knew I was in for a challenge. Developing Hannah's bedroom and giving each of her distinct interests equal representation was not going to be easy, especially since the science and nature aspects of her personality could be perceived as more masculine. Nevertheless I took up the challenge and was met with success! How did I get there? Be sure to check out my process!
Exploring China

Ever want to travel the world but just can't get away? Doing studies of other civilizations is the next best thing! I recently created a series of sketches and paintings to study Chinese culture, learning a lot about Asian buildings in the process. My explorations took me to opposite ends of the spectrum as I researched both the quaint rustic villages and the majestic temples of the far east.
VEHICLE DESIGN
Joey's Glider

What would an inventive young boy create if he wanted to build a flying machine and he really, really liked dinosaurs? Well, he might just gather a few things from around the house and build a kid-powered pterodactyl glider! The colorful contraption above is the invention of the protagonist in a children's book I'm developing in my spare time.
M-57 Spitfire

My mission: create a single-person craft designed to be quick both inside and outside the atmosphere. Sound easy? Think again. Creating pages of silhouettes and translating those into perspective is no simple task. Be sure to take a behind-the-scenes look at this speedy spacecraft.
M-680 Air Scooter

In the future, highway congestion will be a thing of the past as traffic takes to the skies, unlocking new freedoms for the busy commuter. Light and quick, this single-passenger scooter is the perfect ride for the ambitious young professional. With excellent fuel economy, active crash monitoring, and the best responsiveness of its class, the M-680 model will safely get you where you need to go with time to spare.
ILLUSTRATIONS

The following are quick thumbnails I generated in Photoshop to brainstorm ideas for full-fledged illustrations. Each thumbnail takes between 10 and 15 minutes to create, and any of them can easily be developed into a detailed tonal final. In fact, the final can often be developed in as little as an hour. If requested, with some additional time I can even take the composition all the way to a finalized color painting.
