Tiki Mask
In a special pre-conference workshop before HOW 2010, we were tasked with creating a digitally painted mask.
Dr. Brown and co-instructor John Derry took us through a digital painting workshop where we learned painting techniques, were hooked-up with special brushes and actions, and worked on the new Intuos 4 tablet with art pen. The goal was to create a mask to be laser cut and assembled. Riches and fame awaited the winner of the peer judged contest.
I began with a rough sketch… getting initial look down, and also assembly. I planned to make this as 3 dimensional as possible.
