Letterpress project telling the story of three victims of the Holocaust using only the name of the victim and the identifying number the Nazis tattooed on them. Each story is told by printing the name of the victim and tattooed number with different weights and amounts of ink to represent certain significant points in their lives. One story told is of someone who was killed during the Holocaust, one is of someone who survived and work his tattoo as a badge of courage - almost proudly - wanting to tell people his story, and one is of someone who survived but is so haunted by her experiences that she sees missing family members and other victims around every corner and is ashamed of her time in the concentration camp. I was inspired to do this project after spending time in Israel, visiting the Yad Vashem Holocaust museum, and Berlin, Germany.
