The object of this brief was to create three posters relating to three of De Bono’s six thinking hats. I chose yellow (optimistic), red (emotional) and black (negative). I saw the different versions of thinking as different personas which then developed into periods of a persons life. Optimistic when a person is a child, emotional as a teenager and then forced into a world of seriousness and negativity as an adult.
I wanted the posters to be based around the thoughts of the person during these different periods of their life. I wanted the design to be mostly, if not completely, made up of type. The opacities in the final posters represent to disappearance of optimism. The teenage opacity resembles a guillotine to show the drama of that period of life and the adult opacity shows a full grey back ground and opaque repetitons of the word debt.
