Landscape Therme St. Kathrein
Location: Bad Kleinkirchheim/ Carinthia/ Austria
Competition: 1st Prize
Year: 11/ 2007
Cooperation: Share Architects
The inside and the outside are newly interpreted.
The volume is divided into the ground floor, the first floor with spa
and fitness areas, and the second floor with a premium sauna and an
adjacent spacious roof terrace. The landscape of the building site
merges with the interior of the thermal bath. Inside and outside are
newly defined on this level. The fifth facade, the roof, is an
artificial landscape, which will be used as a sundeck or as a connection
from the roof sauna to the natural grounds.
The ground floor is set back 12 meters from the main road, thereby
creating a boulevard on one side and broadening the existing public
square on the other side. This square is designated to be the main
square of Bad Kleinkirchheim.
The project was completed in cooperation with Share Architects.
