"Театр жив" literally translates from russian as "theatre lives" or "theatre is not dead". The name, which also works as a slogan, represents the artistic statement of the theatre's crew. My goal as a designer was to communicate this message clearly as well as to show that theatre supports the tradition. Another goal was to reflect that the music is one of the focal points in the theatre plays. As most of the troupe members are proficient jazz-rock vocalists, I decided to use the aesthetics which resemble the old rock'n'roll posters. The new theatre is located near the Savelovskaya metro station in Moscow and opens in the beginning of 2013.
