It was a t-shirt.
A fellow on the bus was wearing a black, white and red t-shirt. It all started from there.
This medium is difficult for me - i have trouble with nuance and composition. And, although I think visually, I have trouble making it into something concrete - for someone, besides myself, to see.
This came to me very quickly - a rush. I had to duck out of work to sketch it and make sure I got the essential line and form of it. Some of the elements came after. The 'sky' background was an invention just this evening as I was walking up the street - previously, it was to be much more stark. The figure in the middle frame was a complete surprise. As designed, the whole thing was architectural but, once I drew the form, I saw the person in it. It's funny how things change as they go along.
Initially, it was a single image. As I thought about it, it found it's form and, I think, this works.
