First European landed in North America

Nearly 500 years before Christopher Columbus crossed the blue ocean, a Norse Viking by the name of Leif Eriksson landed on the North American continent. Eriksson is believed to be the first European to have landed on and established a settlement in North America around 1000 CE. Researchers aren’t sure exactly where Leif landed, but they believe it might have been at Labrador or Newfoundland, in Canada. Leif explored a region he called Vinland. Today, we still ask ourselves, “Who really discovered America?”

TYPOART created a collection of historical souvenirs about Leif's family. The collection is always in progress, from time to time is enriched with new pictures, changes are possible as pictures are being continuously improved. Stay tuned.
