'The Wind In The Willows' - Book Cover
University Project/Penguin Awards Submission
This is a book cover for the children's classic book The Wind In The Willows, submitted to the Puffin (Children's Book) Award competition 2013.
The idea behind it is to show the two different sides of the book - The happy, carefree, lazing about on the river side versus the darker side where the characters have to face the consequences of their actions. The tranquil riverside versus the hostile woods. Summer versus Winter. I chose the colour blue as I feel it best represents the overall atmosphere and feelings within the book - happy, calm, peaceful, cold, eerie.
