The brief was to document an iconic sound clip first heard in the 1950s
western film ‘Distant Drums.’ The same sound clip of a man screaming can
be heard in numerous Hollywood Blockbusters and became many acclaimed
directors ‘go-to’ sound effect.
The concept was to pick 7 films that feature the Wilhelm Scream and
create separate concertina foldouts to portray each one. The documents
detail when the scream occurs in the film; along with info on the
‘perpetrator’ - the subject who caused the scream to happen, and a
‘victim’ - the person who is screaming.
