The Whiteboy Shebeen Restaurant is a South African gem in Sandton, Johannesburg. The eclectic vibe and strong African influences make it a restaurant you will remember. A new corporate identity needed to be created, along with packaging for their house wine & beer. (This project was purely done for The Open Window School of Visual Communication.)
The concept behind this project is Stacked Shacks. I wanted to give the project a very organic feel with the illustration style as well as in the packaging of the wine and beer bottles. For the wine, I incorporated musical instruments with the shacks, as wine is for the bit more 'sophisticated'. I also tried to match the instruments as closely as I could to the type of wine (Merlot, Pinot Noir, Shiraz).
