THE ARCTIC SOCIETY
In 2060, after a brief phase of global warming, there was a little ice age in the air.
Due to the tremendous activity of numerous volcanoes all over the world, global warming was stopped and the Arctic froze again.
In the course of this process, numerous ships and oil-production facilities became ice-bound, and many of them were abandoned.
These circumstances and certain mysterious events led to a renewed blossoming of the Thule civilisation, which sought to re-establish itself.
It is told that a hitherto unknown substance (a rare earth) was discovered in the Arctic in 2020.
Knowledge of the site and exploitation was only passed on among the Inuit.
Using a combination of parts of disused industries and ships in conjunction with traditional Inuit practices and the technology of 2060, a new housing tradition was created making the continuation of old traditions and trade with “rare earth” possible.
The “Hunter” cabin is the first dwelling of this reanimated culture of Thule.
