Distilling cities into smaller more manageable ideas is paramount to my understanding of them. Whereas a larger more comprehensive viewpoint may divulge more in the way of a general impression of a particular urban landscape, so too, the more heavily edited versions contrast is just as distinct with a greater emphasis being placed on individual elements. Personal connections between more familiar perceptions about materials, architecture, fashion, living standards etc., is encouraged and excess information is removed to keep cultural preconceptions to a minimum.
