This is a charcoal drawing using charcoal pencil and compressed charcoal. I wanted to take a simple object that has a lot of meaning to me and place it in a completely different atmosphere than what it usually sits in. I gave the keyboard this mysterious subtle atmosphere to give it stage presence. The softness of the gradation is representative of the soothing sounds one can create from a keyboard.
