The Silent Narrator

concept: Višnja Žugić, Miljana Zeković, Bojan Stojković
realisation: participants of the workshop held at WSD2013

Held at World Stage Design 2013 in Cardiff as a part of Architecture Performs! Scenofest section, this workshop aimed at exploring the role of architecture in translating the idea of a written text. The Silent Narrator thus referred to space which became a narrator, in a specific correlation with the body.

(from the workshop's explication)
"...The base point for this workshop is the short story Instructions on how to climb a staircase by an Argentine novelist, Julio Cortázar. The idea is to find a space that, interacting with the bodies of our group, translates the meaning and the impression of a given story. Space should become the main instrument that engages in the dialogue with our bodies, and emphasizes the story, replaces or translates it completely. The process that we will share will reveal the potential that space has in telling a story, discovering hidden layers of meanings behind the physical environment. We will underline the importance of space in communicating a certain meaning."
