‘Gajar ka halwa’, a short clay animation film was cooked as a final year project at IDC, IIT Bombay in 2012.
It's about the day-to-day meaningless squabbles shared between the old couples. The love, well it does exits but in an amusing way. The priorities might change over the time the couples have spent together, however they adore their imperfectness of life.
The movie shares the loving and humorous moments that grandma and grandpa have seen together.
Cooking up the story
The term  ‘Old age’ usually relates to sadness. So I thought of focusing on the sweetness of the relationship as I had spent lot of time with my grandparents. Observing their day-to-day activities, their way of talking, behavior, and conversation with each other always caught my attention.
I also talked with few of my friends who have lived with their grandparents and listed down their emotional and fun filled experiences.
In one of those conversations a friend narrated me a story where his grandfather used to steal the delicacies and eat, as her grandmother would keep it away from him due to the health issues. I found that incident very interesting and it triggered my thought process.
The final story was a patchwork. Tying all the interesting incidents with a common knot, that was ‘Gajar ka halwa’
