The second project for TED Education, a part of TED Conferences.
This animation piece explains the light phenomenon that happens on planet earth, called the Aurora Borealis and the Aurora Australis.

Since it was aimed at younger audiences , we decided to do a mix between the 40's style character animation, but taken to the 3D realm, and some modern infographics, which give it a contemporary feel.

Technically I got to experiment a bit with facial rigging and animation, as well as a cartoonier, bendy kind of rig for the character's arms and hands.

Thanks to Miguel Reyes for letting me use his awesome typeface Plastilina for this project.
