This was my first serious photo-essay, it was shot in Hanoi between 2008 and 2010, just before the 1000 years anniversary of the city. Since the opening of Vietnam to the outside world in 1994, the country has been undertaking massive urbanization projects so that today the once quiet and peaceful capital has become a maddening urban jungle. This visual narrative aims to focus on the feeling of awkwardness created by such rapid and somewhat experimental urbanization. Read Less
