The Mischief Makers

  • Mischief Makers
An Animation project with patients in Stobhill Hospital
  • A brief slideshow introduction to the hospital animation workshop, followed by a short film by patients at Stobhill Hospital, from 2008.

"Imagine being in a psychiatric ward; how would you feel? Lonely. Frightened. Confused. Bored. Lost. Then Theatre NEMO arrives. What changes? Stimulation. Excitement. Socialising. Fun! Helping recovery, the therapeutic value of making an animation."

Theatre NEMO has an established reputation in delivering successful workshops in psychiatric hospitals in conjunction with NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, helping to engage and stimulate those with severe mental health issues, to promote good mental health and wellbeing.

Activities generally centre on animation - character sculpting, storyboard and script development, use of camera and computer equipment, as well as set design and construction. Participants generally feel less stigmatised and isolated and have the confidence to take part in community activities when leaving hospital.
