The Mighty Acorn Project

The Mighty Acorn Project began in 2010 as a way to support those on the path to recovery from eating disorders.
Based on the realization that one of the most significant aspects of recovery is support and compassion, a new symbol for recovery was created based on the acorn, a symbol for patience as seen in the old English proverb "Mighty oaks from little acorns grow".

The first manifestation of the symbol is a pendant that comes in pairs of two- one to keep and one to give to someone in the process of recovery. The pendant acts as a two-way promise and a reminder of the human support.
The pendant is laser-cut from a paper-like plastic, seemingly fragile but water and tear-resistant.
