Concept. Target Audience. Content. Character Exploration. Brainstorming. Storyboarding. Speech Bubble Exploration. References. Drawing. Inking. Font Design. Digitalizing. Photoshop. InDesign. Proofing. Printing.
These are the ingredients that go into the making of a graphic book.
When I tell people that the Graphic book "A Gardener in the Wasteland" took 2 years to complete, the instant reaction is that of disbelief as to most people a graphic book has only two steps - Drawing. Printing.
What else could there possibly be?
This book answers that very question. A lot of what's in this book is simply scans of my notes and drawings put together in a somewhat systematic manner to document the train of thought I travelled upon in these two years and how the Graphic book transformed from what look like doodles initially to a crisp new book on the shelf of that bookstore in the next door market.
