The Life and Art of Eric Gill
Este projecto, feito no âmbito da disciplina de Tipografia do meu Mestrado em Design e Multimédia, consistia em elaborar um trabalho sobre um tipógrafo, vivo ou morto, com um formato e meio ao nosso critério (publicação, aplicação para o iPad, formato revista, com entrevistas, etc.). Havia apenas uma limitação: o trabalho devia ser paginado exclusivamente com famílias tipográficas desenhadas pelo tipógrafo escolhido. Eu escolhi fazer o meu projecto sobre Eric Gill, primeiro porque admiro bastante o seu trabalho, a sua versatilidade e a sua personalidade e depois porque o considero um dos grandes tipógrafos do século XX.
This project, made in a Typography class of my Master’s in Design and Multimedia, consisted in elaborating a work about a type designer, living or dead, in a format and medium chosen by us (publication, magazine, iPad application, made research or interviews, etc.). I chose to do my project about Eric Gill, first because I’m a great admirer of his work, versatility and personality and then because I consider him to be one of the greatest type designers of the 20 th century.
