About the project: In a class, all students were given a final project with the only restriction being the item must be practical in some way and be made in a set of three. Some chose infographics, product tags or beer bottle wraps. I decided on taking the popular Legend of Zelda franchise and reimagining it (different style of triforce, for example).
My process: I wanted to recreate what was already so captivating, but for a new medium. In this case, film. I started by ideating a new Triforce, a symbol which represents three elements of the world: Power (top), Wisdom (left) and Courage (right). The three triangles were great for this project, so all I did was use a similar artistic style but in a slightly different way for each poster. I used colors which are typically representative of the three parts of the triforce, but also reflective of the characters and environments within the game franchise itself.
The result: I took what "Farore" meant, represented in the franchise as life. In "Nayru," I used almost a water-color style to help represent that wisdom permeates everything. In "Din," I used a clean and controlled setting to represent power and order.
