The King is Dead
Anger doesn't begin to describe my reaction to Lebron James' infamous'decision' on July 8th, 2010. Being both a Clevelander and a hugeCavaliers fan, I was beyond disappointed at the way he went aboutleaving my team. Being a free agent means you're free to go where everyou please, so I can't get mad at the fact that he's going to anotherteam. However, I am appalled at how he did it. Going on nationaltelevision and making a fool out of Cleveland instead of just being aprofessional and politely letting the teams know. He left after puttingup one of the most embarrassing playoff performances ever by a socalled superstar and most valuable player. This guy was supposed to bein the conversation for one of the greatest players of all time. Hedubbed himself "The Chosen One" and "King James." Instead he quit onhis hometown, his teammates, and his fans to join up with two othersuperstars. Greats like Michael Jordan and Larry Bird didn't team upwith their rivals, they went out and beat them. With his self absorbed,"I'm taking my talents to South Beach" decision, he effectivelydestroyed his own legacy. The king is dead.
