The Killer Salmon

  • This is a sketch I drew a few months ago while i was planning to write a story about this “Salmon’s” adventure on another blog of mine where i used to write on – in the end it came out to be just a sketch and i left the story behind.

This story was supposed to be about this Salmon who was trapped on this “Bubbled world” lost somewhere in space and there was this stupid bird that was always making fun of him. It would turn out to be a “Tom & Jerry” kind of story.
This sketch illustrates a scene where the bird finally leaves and the salmon, who always seemed so small and innocent, jumps out of the water to catch the bird.

This sketch was drawn in kraft paper, with a Sakura 0.05 ink pen and a white pencil.
  • I decided to make a digital painting from it.

It is a bit different from the original sketch, and i ended up adding new stuff.
The head and tail were remade and the little planet where the salmon lives got some “liquid space infinity” on it. I added some colors for the background as well.

I’m not very happy with the water results, it looks more like frozen falling water than fluid water falling i think… I’m happy with the Salmon’s head though, i like the result of the eyes, and the drool gives movement to the image.
