'i' newspaper were aiming to attract more of the student demographic. I provided a weekly competition on an extension of their website, where anyone wanting to get into journalism could post their own article for a chance for it to be published in their Saturday issue, all decided upon by the editors at 'i'.
- To start the user would register at 'www.independent.co.uk/i/youreditorial' free of charge.
- Have access to their own 'editor' profile so you can become apart of an editorial community.
- For each weekly competition they can only upload one article.
- Everyday from Saturday to Wednesday the editorial deadline is 12pm.
- At the end of each day there are a selected 20 articles.
- At the end of each week there are a selected 100 articles.
- If selected they will be later notified if their article has either been awarded as:
'Article of the Day' or 'Article of the Week'.
- Ultimately if chosen as 'Article of the Week' it will then be published in the next Saturday issue of 'i'.
