A major event production company from Traverse City, Michigan approached the Intersection branding firm for their expertise in branding to help them realize a vision. The Great Wakes Festival is designed as an "XGames type" wake boarding competition that doubled as a celebration of the water in Traverse City and was developed to create a new draw in the early summer tourism season. One of the main attractions is a wake boarding rip cord for the professional wake boarding competition.
These logo concepts are the result of conversations with the Intersection branding team, my interpretation of their creative brief and client feedback. The primary client request was that the logo mark combine the shape of the "Michigan mitten" with the shape of a wave.
