Self Directed Brief:
‘The Great Outdoors'
Us yöungfriends set ourselves the brief to create an exhibition that explored the theme ‘The Great Outdoors’.
The mission was simple. Bring all that we love about the outdoors and express this visually through a series
of screen-printed posters.
We held our first official exhibition in conjunction with the shop ‘Ink & Thread’, who were celebrating their
2nd year in business.
For the night of the event we decorated the shop with props that you would associate with the outdoors
such as logs, leaves, axes & wellington boots. We also did a bit of live screen-printing and live-art, which
involved creating wall art using insulation tape and a projector.

A distressed texture was added to the artwork to give it a more handprinted feel during the screen-printing process.
As fall sets in, some trees, plants break down etc. This is what we tried to achieve with the feel of the texture.
