For my senior thesis, I imagined a unique business, named it, positioned it, branded it, and then created a system of brand touchpoints, including this website.
I created a youth hostel, The Grasshopper, an affordable, sustainable alternative to hotel stay that would fill the
overwhelming gap in the American hostel market. It would open with flagship locations in Austin,
Boulder and Seattle and provide a minimal but comfortable, community-oriented place to stay, targeted toward independent, low-budget, traveling twenty-somethings. What follows is the website I conceptualized, with every last detail of the user's experience on the web taken care of and geared toward a streamlined process for reservations while giving pertinent information about local culture, attractions, and creating a sense of community with other travelers.
