This was a series of spreads I did based on a magazine article arguing whether or not the video game format could be considered an art form.
The article used a very unique game as its defense against the claim that video games are not an art form. I've played the game Okami myself, so using what I understood of the game and where it concepts came from I created a old Japanese style sumi-e piece to apply to the spread layout. The second spread was basically just playing with the stereotypical 8-bit form blocky game appearance, which is why all elements and type layout are rectangular and bold.
