The Family Road Trip
The goal of this project was to translate voice and character
typographically and explore typography as an expressive tool. The theme we were
to explore was "The Family Road Trip." After developing my characters
and writing a conversation, I translated those voices into type. I chose to put
all the voices in one font family, Univers, with the one exception of the Nokia
font for the text messages.
One of the other focuses of this project was to develop an
effective color palette. After multiple iterations of color, I decided to have
the colors reflect the destination of the road trip. Pulling from postcards and
images of Albuquerque, I came up with the color palette in the book below.
