G-Net asked Blind NYC Creative Director Mark Bellncula to create a highly stylized teaser for 2K’s The Darkness II, the forthcoming sequel to their 2007 hit. With an existing script, a tight schedule but an open brief, Blind signed on to keep things dark. A hypnotic ride with a carousel of characters emerging from ethereal smoke.
Particle simulations combined with filmed smoke elements comprise most of the piece, punctuated by moments of profound violence. Game charaters are blown apart into the smoke before seamlessly reforming into menacing supernatural creatures.
