The dairy farm was that magical place I grew up. Following Dad to work, feeding the calves, bearing as much responsibility that a young child could.
Throughout my upbringing, as with today, debates of the Dairy industry were common. I have witnessed many opinions, topics from milk prices, and EU laws on importing produce, to the controversial badger cull. These topics may hang in the bleakness of some images, but this body of work was initially inspired by my discovery of the mega dairy. How can a rotating dairy serving 3000 cows, who are reared indoors be humane?
I wish to bring the enduring lives of this currently understated world to the attention of my generation, the lifestyle of the Dairy Farm as it is now, before further change. Initially photographing the space, I am now moving on to portray the day to day lives of the dairy herdsman.
