Matt Dixon's profile

The Curious Incident - National Theatre

Based on the top-selling novel by Mark Haddon, the play tells the story of Christopher, a remarkable fifteen year-old, as he attempts to find the culprit responsible for the untimely death of neighbourhood dog Wellington.
The creative concept here reflects some of the key themes from the production, hinting at the remarkable way in which Christopher interacts with the world, as well as the balance between order and chaos that’s central to the play.

The campaign launched in print, online including a website and across outdoor.
The post-opening key art for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time retains the existing visual assets and is developed by way of the incorporation of quotes within the grid device on which Christopher stands. This approach not only mirrors the aesthetic of the theatrical staging but approaches the display of quotes afresh, alluding to the unique way in which Christopher sees the world.
