The Bully Project

Based on my own experiences with bullying, this poster series began with a belief that the most destructive part of an act of bullying occurs after the fact, as the slander and insults continue to haunt and eat away at the victim. These posters aim to empower the victims of bullying bygiving them the confidence to define themselves.

An act of bullying creates a fundamental distortion. For those present, the insults, accusations, and slander involved begin to supersede reality, weakening the victim and establishing for the aggressor a false sense of security and power. In these moments, we often begin to lose grip of the truth about ourselves, as well as the ways in which our actions affect others. These posters serve as a reminder that in a situation such as this, there is a huge difference between the way we feel and the way things really are, and that even in the times that we feel weak and powerless, we are stronger than we realize.
