  • Temperatures and sea salt are growing. Mediterranean Sea is hotter than ever, but elsewhere in the world everything is freezing. It’s the proof that the world has already changed. To some climate-experts, the Earth is approching a new ice age. As it happened about 11.000 years ago, Mediterranean waters are warming up very fast and this is the cause of other similar-to-the-past climate changings. The increasing salt density in the Mediterranean Sea could be the solution to the slowing down of the Thermohaline circulation: some experts think that builting a dam on the Strait of Gibraltar, can regulate the flux of salt and repristinate the correct balance in order to preserve the circulation of the oceanic waters. If the actual level of CO2 in the atmosphere doubles, sooner the global temperature will increase of 2°C and then the Thermohaline circulation will even stop. The Polar ice will melt and the polar winter will move on continental Europe.
