Our idea is to explore and discover the genes that come together to create the unique character & style of the new Beetle.
By using a consumers social data, we’ll draw parallels and make connections between a participants online personality and the genes that form the unique attributes that are Beetle.
We’ll gamify the campaign by encouraging users to take action and unlock special Beetle genes that will combine and connect with their own ‘digital’ genes, forming a unique Beetle DNA map that illustrates how they + Beetle share certain characteristics.

User logs in via Weibo, which allows us to pull data from their social graph using the Weibo API.
Once they have logged in, the screen animates as all the characteristics of their online personal are gathered.

Click start to kick off the gene explore journey.
Then a little beetle fly in to start the junction of the gene ball.
There are thousands of personal & the Beetle’s un conventional genes elements living and waiting for being activated.

Finally the gene core turned into the Beetle. However, the Beetles genes around are locked. The user must take action to unlock them to complete a full DNA map.
These actions could be revealed by clicking a certain locked gene.

Once each gene is unlocked, one of the Beetle’s elements are shown off. For example, a strong heart with powerful voice coming out when sporty gene is unlocked.
