As a response to a RSA competition brief - to create a set of stamps to encourage people to begin and to continue to writing letters, I created these designs. I felt that the best way to represent the theme of letter writing was to use actual handwriting to bring across the personal and emotional feelings that are linked with receiving handwritten letters. Each stamp is focused around one word which is a reason for a person to write a letter, these include 'love', 'congratulations' and 'thank you'.
In addition to the stamps, I wanted to create a promotional 'leaflet' design that would help people to understand more about why the stamps had been designed the way they had and what the relevance of the words were. This piece folds down into an envelope size and opens into a letter form to connect to the whole letter theme.
