This is the Alphabet, taken from letters in the Central Corridor in St Paul, to create an environmental reference for children and English langiage learners to enhance literacy and enrich the resources of the Rondo Community Outreach Library.  One of the Librarins cried when this went up last week, telling me, "Now our children will have the Alphabet to support their learning to read and write."  I was moved beyond what I can describe to have her tears as both an endorsement and recognition of my hopes for this project.

Here is one of the Librarians Iahve had the most contact with at Rondo Library.  Her enthusiasm has been like free fuel to keep me energized and always aware of the need for literacy success among children.  The inteior of the library is soreflective that it is challenging to get a photograph of this part of the interactive exhibit.  However, you can see that the ABC through Z is now a visual resource in the library.

This is a board game using the letters.  It is based on vision skills enhancement for academic success and comes out of behavioral optometry.  The game builds visual memory skills, hand/eye coordination, scanning skills, and sequencing as well as providing a fun way to practice the ABC's.

This photo delights me - I love seeing the letters going along in order and then the signage for the Reference Desk in reverse!
