From time to time, I need to take a creative break from the typical work I do on a day-to-day basis. Heavily influenced by the painter John Register, the 3D renderings you'll find here provide me with a unique outlet to draw upon the spirit, serenity, and isolation found in his work.
Yet, beyond simply cribbing John Register's stylistic influence, I'm also using this as an opportunity to improve my photo-real rendering skills. As such, I would classify any images in this folder as "works in progress". Thoughts or suggestions are welcome!
If you appreciate this style of modernism painting, like that of the more well-known Edward Hopper, I would highly suggest you track yourself down a copy of John Register's career retrospective "Persistent Observer". It's a fantastic collection of this late great artist.
