Taxi Rank is a new way to order cabs in Cape Town from your web browser or smart phone (Android, BlackBerry or iPhone). Just go to www.taxirank.co.za, enter your pick-up and drop-off destinations and it will give you estimated quotes, sorted by price, for each taxi company that can service your trip. You can then select the one you want and your order will be submitted. Wait a few minutes and the taxi company will SMS you to confirm the pick-up time and cost.
The mobile site also has a quick pickup form that uses GPS to automatically determine your pickup location, so can quickly call a cab to come to your location. If you don’t want that you can just change to the detailed order form to get quotes again.
