- TAKAHE - INFORMATIVE POSTCARDS
Assumed to be extinct for half a century
Develop a graphic system which will clearly and concisely tell the story of your threatened species (Takahe Bird) to a selected audience.
Present as a series of A5 cards.
The New Zealand Species under threat in which I have continued to investigate is the Takahe bird.
I plan for the informative cards to be situated within a bird wildlife information centre or a Doc office which specialises with the Takahe bird.
The informative cards tell the story of how at one stage the Takahe was once thought to be extinct but then in 1929 Geoffrey Orbell rediscovered 4, overtime this number has risen to 230 Takahe birds. Where the Takahe was once found and where it is now found are also illustrated along with a comparison of the causes of death with wild Takahe birds and captive-reared birds. I have then illustrated the recovery plan for Doc as they wish to increase mating pairs by 2012.
The typeface Univers has been used, as it is a clear easy to read contemporary typeface.
