The brief for this project was to make a 3D visualisation of a hand held torch. The inspiration for this design came from nature. I wanted to incorporate the way the flower unfolds, unravels and untwists when blooming. The TWIST torch is used as an ordinary hand held torch but when the cover is twisted and pulled in a downward motion the voids in the petal-like sections around the top of the torch let the light flood through and allows TWIST to be used as a lantern. This can be placed on a flat surface, held like a torch or placed in a pocket for hands free lighting.
Below are a series of renders that I created toward the end of the project and a sample of some of the branding I created for this project.
This project was completed at York St John University as part of my first year coursework.
