Según la creencia de la civilización mexicana antigua, cuando un individuo muere su espíritu continúa viviendo en Mictlán, lugar de residencia de las almas que han dejado la vida terrenal. Dioses benevolentes crearon este recinto ideal que nada tiene de tenebroso y es más bien tranquilo y agradable, donde las almas reposan plácidamente hasta el día, designado por la costumbre, en que retornan a sus antiguos hogares para visitar a sus parientes. Aunque durante esa visita no se ven entre sí, mutuamente ellos se sienten.El día de esta visita es el 2 de Noviembre, el día de muertos una de las mas ricas tradiciones mexicanas, en donde se mezcla el amor por los difuntos, la visión mexicana de la muerte, alegrías, sabores y colores.
Muerterrey es una exposición gráfica que se realiza por motivo de esta fecha, en la ciudad de Monterrey año tras año. En esta ocasión decidí hacer mi calaverita en honor a Tupac, rapero neoyorkino fallecido en 1996, ídolo y precursor del movimiento Hip Hop.

According to the belief of the ancient Mexican civilization, when a person dies their spirit lives on in Mictlan, place of residence of souls who have left the earthly life. Benevolent gods created this site that is far from ideal and it is rather gloomy calm and pleasant, where souls rest peacefully until the day appointed by the custom, when returning to their former homes to visit their relatives. Although during this visit did not see each other mutually they feel.The day of this visit is November 2nd, the day of the dead, one of the richest traditions in Mexico, where it mixes love for the dead, the Mexican view of death, joys,flavors, tastes and colors.
