Visiting the Philippines was a very special experience for me... I'm sort of a war buff. The region played an enormous role in world war 2. Not many people know a lot about the war in the pacific (I'm not claiming I know allot). Nontheless, I could still feel the scars and influences of the war. Especially, the American presence! My main inspiration (especially the pictures below) was Apocalypse Now. I saw the movie when I was fairly young, I can remember being completely immersed by the movie's pure cinematic language. That being said I don't think I could even come close to paying an tribute to Vittorio Storaro with these pictures. We had a great 3 weeks in the Philippines resulting in more than 7000 images, narrowed down to a little more than a dozen. I'll post more to my 500px page soon. I also had a Blurb book made.
