The Unlawful Economy is a network of tools that encompasses digital media and literature, educating ex offenders with the correct communication in their approach to interviews.
What's different about the programme is that it's tailored to their Visual-Spatial learning style. The problem is that the usual learning styles used in academic study is the opposite (Auditory-Sequential), so it can slow learning also decreasing confidence.
To put it simply it's almost like someone teaching you how to make a cup of tea in a completely different language that you don't understand!
This programme is based on the issues circling over the last election; the economy and reoffending.Re-offending costs the economy £11billion , and re-offending rates can be reduced by 30-50% through employment , so does it not seem logical to employ ex offenders? Employing ex offenders could potentially play a small part in rebuilding the economy.
This project was my Master's degree thesis at Central Saint Martins, the deliverables target ex offenders, employers and the public. A spatial plan of my degree show space is inlcuded at the end.
