For Edmonton’s inaugural TEDx, coordinators Ken Bautista & Cindy Fulton were looking to make a great first impression in the TED community. At the time, I was Co-Director of the Student Design Association (SDA) at the University of Alberta. I designed the stage to double as a backdrop and pop-up exhibition for student work. All materials were either re-used, recyclable, or re-purposed. Not only were we able to impress TED founder Chris Anderson with the result, but we were also able to help future members of the SDA an ongoing opportunity to work with TEDxEdmonton.
