Brief: To design a simple intuitive TDS Meter that can be sold to homeowners who want to check their potable water quality.
Role: Concept Generation, Form Development, SolidWorks Modeling, Photorealistic Renderings,
SLA prototype with integrated electronics.
Process: Initial sketches looked at ubiquitous objects of daily use - a spoon, a pencil, a bottle opener etc. The final concept resembles an inverted spoon with a bulbous head for the button and a linear tail which houses the electrodes. The product semantics guide the user to grip the head and press on the dome to operate the meter. Once the form and electronics were finalized, SLA models with fully working electronic circuitry were tested to validate the concept. Production drawings were released after successful testing of the prototype.
Deliverables: Sketches, SolidWorks Model and Renderings, SLA Prototype, Production Drawings
